Yet one was rebooking clients nearly every person she saw while the others continuously struggled to build any regular client base!

And what made it crazier was that English wasn’t even Swati’s first language, so on paper she had a huge disadvantage compared to the others.

We needed to figure out what she was doing differently so we could train the rest of our team.

So we role-played appointments with her and she showed us her entire process that she went through from meeting a client all the way through to after they left.

We acted out sessions with her over and over again and started to see what she did differently compared to everyone else that had her clients booking months in advance just to be able to get a spot with her.
Eventually we identified what made the differences and started recording the processes into trainings for our team.

As soon as we shared the new processes with our other therapists we saw immediate results.
Within days their rebooking rates skyrocketed and only improved in the following weeks as they continued to refine the techniques they'd just learned.

And that was just the beginning.

Swati joining our team all those years ago and showing us what was possible lead us to continue to figure out more techniques and strategies in our goal of maximising our team's ability to turn new customers into long term clients who we could properly help.
Now it's normal for our new hires to go from 20% up to 80% rebooking rates within a few weeks of learning and practising our scripts and strategies.
This is a regular week at our salon where it's normal for therapists to be rebooking brand new clients (who come in from special offer promotions) to rebook them at 70% and 80%. And then retain clients after their second visit at above 90%.
The biggest keys we've identified to see such dramatic improvements comes down to:
1. The mental perspective of a therapist.
The self talk going on in a therapists head before they see a client plays is a larger piece of the rebooking puzzle than most people understand.

it's really incredible to see how a few simple mental switches can lead to drastic changes in rebooking rates with nothing else changed.
2. What the business and treatment room looks like.
From the second a clients walks through the door and sees the inside of your business through to how your treatment room is arranged, lit and decorated will greatly influence whether or not a client will come back, even if a therapist does everything else well.
3. How a customer is greeted.
First impressions last, so it's important to understand that the initial interaction a client has with your business and how they are greeted can make or break the entire rebooking process. And it's not just what is said but HOW it is said as well as what actions the person saying it takes during the greeting.
4. The pre-massage consultation and screen.
From speaking to many of the top therapists in the world through my Massage Success Academy I've found one thing those who have rebooking rates of 90%-95% and up all have one thing in common - the effort they put into their pre-session consultation and screen.

99 out of 100 therapists that I've helped AND who I've got massages from get this part wrong because nobody has ever explained how to do it right so that the client believes you genuinely care about helping them.
5. Performing the massage itself.
Everyone knows that what happens on the table is a huge part of whether or not a client will come back, but what most therapists don't understand it's not all about what you do with your hands, it's also about what you say as well.

Just a few sentences is all it takes to have the client ready to come back and see you.
6. What happens after the massage.
This is one of the most critical parts of the rebooking process. But it's not just about asking if they want to rebook, in fact that is one of the biggest mistakes a therapists can make... 

It's also critical what is said DIRECTLY AFTER the massage while you're still in the room which is often even more important.
7. Handling any objections to rebooking back in.
Not everyone who is attempted to get back in for more sessions will say yes, in fact many will initially say no, but this doesn't mean that there aren't some things you can say to turn them around. Overcoming some of the most common reasons (objections) that a client gives for not wanting to book back in is something not many therapists give much thought to but it can help turn around a lot of rebookings for those who you know really need your help.
